What is your most memorable event to date?
Planning Rick Ross’ pop-up concert in Miami with just two days prior notice. We transformed an elegant ballroom into a full production concert arena and more than 1,500 guests attended!
What’s your favorite part about your job?
Definitely site visits with clients! You get to experience your city through the eyes of someone else and it’s so fun to be a host to the client. I love trying new things so I get excited when clients have never experienced something before, and I get to be the one to show them something new and give them that memory.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the special events industry?
Always have a “plan B”. Things will go wrong and you will need to adjust. If you can respond well to change then you can always ensure that the client’s expectations are exceeded.
What is your favorite event venue?
The Boca Raton Resort and Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort. The architecture reminds me of Spain and I love the high ceilings, wooden doors, Spanish tiles and overflowing palms.
What is the best event entertainment you’ve ever seen?
Anything technology based is always interesting. For example, brain art stations where guests can create artwork using their brain waves while wearing a headset that measures the signals and activity.
If you didn’t work in the Special Events Industry, what would you do?
I would open a Peruvian fusion restaurant with my dad’s secret family recipes, or become a featured chef on Food Network.
Where were you born and raised?
Born in Denver, Colorado. Raised in Miami, Florida. Best of both worlds!
What’s your dream vacation/favorite destination?
Lounging in an over-water bungalow over the crystal clear ocean in Bora Bora.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
Finding free yoga classes around the city, trying new restaurants, binge-watching Netflix or HBO series, throwing birthday parties for my dog, cooking, spending time with my fiance and friends, and traveling. My goal is to visit at least one new country that I’ve never been to once a year.
