What attracted you to the event management world?

I love working onsite with clients, creating that relationship to bring back return business, and ensuring that we exceed their expectations. I am very logistics minded, love a good to-do list and making sure all “i’s” are dotted and “t’s” are crossed. I enjoy the bit of a rush that comes along with unexpected scenarios onsite and working towards the goal of an efficiently produced and exquisitely displayed event!

How did you first become interested in this industry?

Since high school, I knew I wanted to be in the event industry, I just wasn’t sure in which capacity. Once graduating from Baylor University, I reached out to a family friend who owned her own DMC in Vail. She offered me a job and the rest is history! I loved what I was doing but wanted to get back to Texas quickly.

What is your favorite part about your job?

I love that every day is a little different. Every program has a different client/personality, various challenges, unique elements that make up the event. No part of DMC work feels repetitive!

What is the best part about the destination you work in?

Everything is bigger in Texas…the southern hospitality, the food scene, the mild weather, and the Texas pride!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Married to my wonderful fiancé, Chris. Mother to a few sweet kiddos. Still immersed in the event industry, and possibly venturing into the sales side of things.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Vail, CO.

How do you like to spend your weekends?

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family! I like to try new restaurants, explore some cute boutiques, enjoy the outdoors if weather permits, and try to get a workout in.

Are there any causes you are passionate about? Any ways you give back to the community?

Anything related to heart health because of my personal family history.

What are common questions that clients ask you about the event planning world?

Some questions include:

  1. Does your company travel with clients?
  2. What is the best way to reach you after business hours?
  3. Can we extend our event time?
  4. Will you be onsite?
  5. What do we do if the weather doesn’t hold out? Can we cancel the day of due to weather?

We asked Caitlin if she could bring any three people to dinner who would they be and why? Caitlin would bring her sister, Lauren, who passed away in March 2019, because she makes every situation more fun than anticipated! Princess Diana to hear how she handled her role in royalty with such poise and beauty, all while keeping such a kind/giving heart. Lastly, Ellen DeGeneres because she always makes me laugh, has plenty of stories to tell and she is extremely charitable, which I find to be a very admirable trait. We couldn’t agree more Caitlin! Head over to our Instagram posting @csidmc, and comment on who your three favorite dinner guests would be!

Did you guess what Megan’s favorite vacation spot from last week? She loves going to Ocean City, MD with her family and relaxing on the beach!
