What attracted you to the event management world?
I’ve always enjoyed planning social gatherings for friends and families whether it was a dinner party or birthday surprise. George Mason University thankfully had a degree for event management, so I figured why not make a career out of it!
How did you first become interested in this industry?
I always knew I wanted to be in this industry, but I had multiple internships throughout college that confirmed this was the industry for me.
What is your favorite part about your job?
Everything! Every week I learn something new. We are constantly challenged to use our creativity and problem-solving skills. No week is the same, so it keeps things fun and exciting!
What is the best part about the destination you work in?
In my opinion, DC is one of the most beautiful cities. It holds so much power and history, yet each neighborhood has a unique feel. You can have the typical DC experience with the monuments and museums, or you can stop by Little Pearl for some coffee then head over to Eastern Market to do some shopping. I’ve been in this city for six years and I’m always amazed by the new experiences I get to enjoy each weekend.
What is one of your most proud accomplishments at CSI (or other company) so far?
At my previous job, I was the event manager for Super Bowl 53 Experience in Atlanta.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
No specific plans! I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.
Where are you from?
Blacksburg, VA.
How do you like to spend your weekends?
Taking my dog for a hike, trying a new restaurant in DC with my fiancé, or laying on the couch watching The Office.
If you could bring any three people to dinner who would they be and why?
I would bring Ellen DeGeneres, Michelle Obama, and Kristen Bell. It is my dream to meet them! They are the perfect balance between class and comedy.
