WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE EVENT TO DATE?
It is hard to pick just one, but a highlight for me was when we were selected as the DMC partner for the FICP Annual Meeting in Boston in 2013. We were able to produce several fabulous events with all of our colleagues and friends in attendance. Closing the week out with an epic 80s party was so much fun!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT YOUR JOB?
I love site inspections. I have so much fun running around Boston and all over New England showcasing this destination. I find that I get an opportunity to know my clients really well on site inspections and also get to visit all of my favorite venues in one day… not to mention eating lots of delicious food along the way!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING OUT IN THE SPECIAL EVENTS INDUSTRY?
Be confident and always be building your personal brand.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE VENUE?
My favorite venue is the JFK Presidential Library and Museum because it gives the guests a taste of history, a beautiful view, and flexible spaces that can do anything from a daytime meeting to an outdoor clambake. I also love Fenway Park, growing up as a Red Sox fan, it is really special having the entire park to yourself for a private event.
WHAT IS THE BEST EVENT ENTERTAINMENT YOU’VE EVER SEEN?
At PCMA Vancouver, the city was showcasing the outdoor sports of the destination so they had huge wire puppeteers in the form of athletes that were acting out various sports (biking, snowboarding, kayaking, etc.) suspended above the crowd!
IF YOU DIDN’T WORK IN THE SPECIAL EVENTS INDUSTRY, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
I would probably run my family business, Pratty’s Bar! Who knows, I could have been a pro pool player if I had hung around the business longer!
WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND RAISED?
I was born and raised in Gloucester, MA – home of The Perfect Storm, Wicked Tuna, and most recently the movie, Manchester by the Sea. In that movie, you will see my family’s bar is featured in it and Casey Affleck wears a “Pratty’s” sweatshirt!
WHAT IS YOUR DREAM VACATION?
I would love to go on a safari in Africa and am working on planning that trip for next year. Any recommendations are welcome!
HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR TIME OUTSIDE OF WORK?
I have a little boat that I spend as much time as possible on in the summer! I am also a big Boston sports fan so I am always cheering on my championship teams and attending as many games as I can.
LAST THOUGHTS…
I am a party girl! I love to plan parties, go to parties, and host parties! I think the headline picture sums me up because I always try to add a little sparkle and confetti to everything!
