GET TO KNOW OUR TALENTED TEAM BEHIND OUR EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCES! LEIGH TRANCE, VICE PRESIDENT OF NATIONAL ACCOUNTS, IS PICTURED HERE SPENDING TIME WITH HER TWO BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN!
What is your most memorable event to date?
A Winter Wonderland theme in a ballroom. While this sounds like a run of the mill event, a skating rink was built in the ballroom for Apolo Ohno to demonstrate his speed skating abilities along with a half-pipe ramp for Shaun White to perform skateboard tricks. Ice carving, figure skating, BMX riders and magically whimsical winter décor (think Queen Elsa’s Ice Castle) rounded out this epic vent.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
You never know what each day will bring in this industry. From the client interaction to the internal collaboration, no day is ever the same. I enjoy the diversity and exciting pace of the DMC world. I have also made lifelong friends here at CSI. I love the fact that we consider ourselves one big happy family and treat each other accordingly!
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the special events industry?
Pace yourself, know that you will never end a day with an empty task list (and if you do, something is wrong!) Commit to giving work your all but make time for the things that are important to you personally as well. Have fun, be kind and a team player and in return your colleagues will be there to support you!
What is your favorite event venue?
The Library of Congress in Washington, DC is a breathtakingly stunning venue.
What is the best event entertainment you’ve ever seen?
John Legend at a private event for a group of 200 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The best speaker I have ever heard is Aron Ralston, the mountaineer who amputated his own arm in order to survive. His story is truly unbelievable and motivational.
If you didn’t work in the Special Events Industry, what would you do?
I would probably be living in LA doing something in the music industry.
Where were you born and raised?
A small town in upstate New York which is the 10th rainiest city in the country. Thankfully, I no longer reside there!
What’s your dream vacation/favorite destination?
Anywhere warm and beachy with friends and family!
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I have a 6 year old son and 4.5 year old daughter and my time outside of work is primarily focused on helping them become wonderful little people. I also love to exercise (just finished the Rocky Run here in Philly!), , read books (not a Kindle, an actual book) and consider myself a decent cook. As a family we love to do crafts, have dance parties, travel and take walks all over beautiful Bucks County, PA.

Thanks for playing along with Carmen Ibarra last time! Did you guess her truths and? It’s true, she does actually have a pet sugar glider named Sasha! She also did meet Ryan Gosling in a jungle when she was working at Jungle Island in Miami, and Ryan’s family booked a VIP tour! We are all very jealous. So what was Carmen lying about? She doesn’t speak four languages, she speaks two, which are English and Spanish. We are still very impressed Carmen!
